(June 21, 2023) - The Guilderland Youth Girls Field Hockey Booster Club received a much needed county grant sponsored by Albany County Legislator Mark Grimm.

The 28-hundred dollar grant will finance hockey sticks and protective equipment. The booster club's Director, Coach Jen Sykes (right in photo), has dipped into her own personal funds to buy some equipment in the past.

Legislator Grimm said, "Given the commitment Coach Sykes and her fellow volunteer club officers have shown, it was clear to me this grant would serve a lot of our youth well." The club is open to the entire K-12 field hockey community in Guilderland. The $2,839 check was presented to Sykes by Grimm at an MVP Arena ceremony.
